One man was hurt
A man had to extricating from his vehicle Thursday after he crashed on Interstate 71 South in Fayette County.
Sheriff Vernon Stanforth states 46-year-old Bruce E. Bowman of Goshen, Ohio was driving his Ford F-150 pickup truck south on Interstate 71 and lost control of the vehicle. He traveled off the left side of the Interstate, crossed over the median and into the northbound lanes of Interstate 71.
Bowman crashed through a guardrail, striking a sign post and overturning multiple times coming to rest down a steep ravine where he was entrapped in his vehicle. First responders worked for over 30 minutes extricating Mr. Bowman from the mangled vehicle.
Bowman was airlifted from the scene by Med-Flight to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. Interstate 71 North experienced lane restrictions while the vehicle was removed from the scene, re-opening at 6:30pm.
Bowman’s condition was not immediately available.
