The Republican presidential hopeful will speak in the first capital on August 14th.

It is official. Mitt Romney will be making a campaign stop in Chillicothe Tuesday, August 14th.

Ross County Republican Party Chairperson Diane Carnes says the Romney visit will take place in front of the Ross County Courthouse at 7pm. Free tickets for the event will be made available on-line and from the Ross County Republican Party, with those arrangements being announced closer to the Tuesday event.

Ohio GOP Chair Bob Bennett was quoted in today's Columbus Dispatch, saying it is possible that Romney could announce U.S. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio as his VP running mate during that Chillicothe stop. The Romney Campaign isn't commenting on that.
