Host families are needed for overseas students coming to the U.S.

The non-profit Council on International Education Exchange is looking for Ohio families to host students from other countries for five to 10 months. Many of the students will be arriving at the end of August, so there's some urgency to finding host families.

The family should be able to afford to feed the student, given them a room and provide them with transportation to school events.

Judy Ross, a senior regional director with CIEE, says the biggest thing is a willingness "to welcome this young person into their home and treat them as one of their own."

The students--from Germany, Spain, Brazil, Thailand and other countries--speak English, have the appropriate visa and arrive with spending money. CIEE provides health insurance for the students.
