Local Man Indicted for Assault

David Rinehart is accused of injuring a man who was later flown to a Columbus hospital.

The Fayette County Grand Jury has handed a Jeffersonville man an indictment stemming from an assault earlier this month. On July 23rd, authorities arrested 50-year-old David Rinehart as a suspect in the assault of 40-year-old Frederick Riley, of Jeffersonville. Riley was found unresponsive with a head injury and was flown to a Columbus hospital.

Authorities say Rinehart was arrested on the charge of felonious assault.

Three Washington Court House residents have also been indicted on unrelated charges: 30-year-old Joey Woody faces allegations of receiving stolen property, 41-year-old Mark Rittenhouse is accused of felonious assault and violating a civil protection order, and 28-year-old Timonthy Alltop's indictments allege theft and receiving stolen property.
