The sale started off with Bethany Reiterman grand champion hog being purchased by Carroll Halliday Inc. for $3200. That was more than double the price paid for last year grand champion hog..
Andrew Batson reserve champion was purchased for $1500 by a group made up of Sugarcreek Packing, Fayette County Commissioner Dan Dean, Advantage Bank, Faris Insurance, McDonalds of Fayette County, Gusweilers, Huntington Bank, Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, Fayette County Engineer Steve Luebbe, State Senator Bob Peterson & Rusty Keg Tavern. The price was up from last year's $1200 winning bid.
Cheyenne Wright whose hog finished 3rd overall went for $1000 to Coe Farms & the 4th place hog shown by Charolette Jenkins went for $750 & was purchased by Four Seasons Nursing Home of Washington Court House.
The Breeding Promotion project was purchased by Melvin Stone Company for $675 & Equipment Superstore added another $50 to make the final bid of $725.
Over 160 heads of hogs were sold during 3 1/2 hour sale.

One of the final highlights of the sale was numerous businesses & individuals going together to pay over $14,000 for Houston Coe hog. It was announced at the sale that Houiston has been diagnosed with leukemia & has been working hard fighting the disease including treatments.
Houston has kept up with his fair responbilities this week & the community wanting to show their support to him & his family & came together by bidding various amounts on his animal & raised the amount mention above..
Friday night will be the final night of the auctions. Sale will begin at 5:30pm at the Sales Arena & feature the Feeder, Steer & Lamb Sales. Coverage on Oldies AM 1250 & I Heart Radio-WCHO-AM will begin about 5:25pm.
