Authorities are seeking a man who allegedly shot his girlfriend in the foot, Monday.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at the Heidler Apartment Complex on Delaware Street in Washington Court House. Authorities received a call on Monday at 6:47pm that a woman had been shot, and, upon arrival, they found 19-year-old April Wilson, of Washington Court House, with a gunshot wound to her right foot.

Although her injuries did not appear to be life threatening, Wilson was taken to Fayette County Memorial Hospital and later transferrred to a Columbus-area hospital for further treatment.

Wilson was believed to have been shot by her boyfriend, 33-year-old William L. Pointer, of Trotwood, during a verbal altercation inside the apartment complex. Wilson sought safety at a neighboring apartment; however, Pointer fled and remains at large.

An arrest warrant, charging Pointer with felonious assault, was filed in the Washington Court House Municipal Court. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information related to the shooting incident or the whereabouts of Pointer should contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at (740)335-6170.
