The jury will return to deliberations at 9am Monday
A verdict in the Aggravated Murder trial of Brent Cox will have to wait until Monday. No verdict had been reached by late Friday afternoon, so Pickaway County Common Pleas Judge Randy Knece sent the jury home for the weekend and ordered them back into deliberations at 9am Monday.
In closing arguments Friday morning, the state contending their evidence is solid, pointing to the confession of Don Shepard, who then fingered Cox as the actual trigger-man in the fatal shooting of Rodney Metcalf last October 12th.
The defense argued that the prosecution didn't collect all the evidence and that Shepard accused Brent Cox, to take the heat off himself as the actual killer.
