A man was pronounced dead after he was found trapped under mowing equipment.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal farm accident that occurred Thursday afternoon. Sheriff Vernon Stanforth says a motorist tipped his office to a grass field on Jamison Road, north of US 22, at 12:20pm, on a report of a person trapped under mowing equipment.
82-year-old Herman Ingram, of Washington Court House, was found unresponsive under the bush hog and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Ingram was mowing tall grass on his property when the farm tractor and bush hog collided with some debris. Ingram then disengaged the bush hog and either stepped off or fell from the tractor when it started moving forward. He then became trapped under the bush hog.
