A Fayette Street building under renovation saw heavy damage.
Washington CH Firefighters were called to a Fayette Street address at approximately 8:15pm Thursday where for a structure fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story structure with heavy smoke showing and fire on the first floor. Fire had quickly burned through the roof and crews inside were ordered to evacuate the building. After the fire was knocked down, the roof was removed by crews.
The attic and second floor sustained heavy damage and the first floor had smoke and water damage. The owner, Greg Pickerill of Farmington Lane said the building was being renovated.
