One man arrested near Chillicothe

A Ross County Sheriff's deputy was injured after he was struck by a trailer, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities were called to the 12,000 block of Pleasant Valley Road on a domestic dispute involving Jack Beard. Sheriff George Lavender says Deputy Brenton Davidson was attempting to arrest Beard, but Beard jumped into a vehicle that had a trailer attached to it, and took off at a high rate of speed.

In the process, Deputy Davidson was struck by the trailer. He was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center, while Beard was later arrested for fleeing and eluding. Other charges are pending.

A family member of Deputy Davidson said Thursday night that Brenton was undergoing a CAT Scan and X-Rays, and was expected to be okay.
