The USPS says the office will close either in the last week of May or the beginning of June.
The Lees Creek Post Office will likely close before this summer.
The Wilmington News Journal Reports the Post Office on 9 Larrick Road, was informed that it will close in the last week of May or in the beginning of June.
The U.S. Postal Service notified residents of Lees Creek and Reesville in September that a study would be held on both locations, that could lead to closures. Public hearings were held at the time.
The offices were two of 3,700 across the nation and 120 in Ohio conducting a study.
The study looked at Revenue Brought in: In 2007, the office brought in $12,156. In 2008, revenue rose to $14,354, but declined once again to $10,242 in 2009 and $9,782 in 2010.
The Postal Service processed 167 billion pieces of mail in 2010. According to USPS, they ended the first three months of its 2012 fiscal year (Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2011) with a net loss of $3.3 billion.
It is likely the name of the street will have to change and a public hearing will be held to discuss it on April 18th at 9:00 AM in the Clinton County commissioner’s office.
