The Lady Lions only trailed 20-17 with seconds left in the 1st half of their district semi-finals contest against the state ranked Lady Ironmen Saturday afternoon at Ross Southeastern High School, but a 3 pointer at the horn by Madison Rideout - and then a 7-0 run by Jackson to start the 2nd half - put Washington down by 13 and they couldn't recover.
Washington got no closer than 12 points with 30 seconds left in the 3rd at 39-2,7 but 2 turnovers led to a short 4-0 sprut that put Jackson up 43-27 going into the 4th quarter.
Washington finished the game shooting 24% from the field and was 11 of 15 from the free-throw line. Molli Shaw wrapped up her career with 11 points including 2 threes that kept Washington in the game early. Emma Anderson came off the bench & had 8 points & Carliegh Chaffin added 6.
The Lady Lions turn the ball over 24 times.
Jackson, who will play Athens Tuesday night in the Division 2 Lower Bracket Championship game at the Convo at Ohio University, was led by Lydia Poe with 18 points, and Madison Rideout with 16 points.
Jackson had 18 turnovers, shot 48% from the field, and was 15 of 24 from the free throw line.
Washington finished the season at 14-10 overall.
