The Lady Indians for first time since February 2002 won a 1st round girls tournament basketball game & advance to the sectional championship Saturday against Miami Trace.

Lady Indians (8-14 overall) had defeated Waverly earlier this season 66-44 in January trailed at the half by a 16-13 score & trailed 20-15 early in the 3rd quarter when their defense forced 15 of Waverly's 38 total turnovers & the team went on a 19-5 run that gave them a 34-25 lead going into the final quarter.

They followed up with a 21-6 fourth period to clinch the win.

Trista Rhodes led the Lady Indians with 12 points, Kaylynn Bell had 9 points & Fait Middleton added 8 points.

Waverly was led by Hannah Martin with 10 points.

Hillsboro will make up their regular season game at home against Goshen Tuesday night & then play Saturday against Miami Trace at 1pm at Zane Trace High School.
