The Lady Panthers jumped out to leads of 19-0 and 25-3, then made sure that they nailed down the win to capture a share of the school 9th SCOL girls basketball title in the last 10 years. Miami Trace shares the league title with Clinton-Massie as both teams finish at (13-1) in SCOL action.

It was Ben Ackley first league title in his 1st year as Panthers Head Coach.

Miami Trace led 19-1 after the first period as Panthers went to the bench often playing a tight pressure defense that forced numerous Astros turnovers.

Astros didn't get their first field goal in the game until halfway through 2nd quarter as Trace led 29-7 at halftime.

Brooklyne Baldwin led Miami Trace with 12 points, Ashley Henry and Abby Schwek had 7 points each as 10 Panthers scored during the game.

East Clinton was led by Beth Huffman had 11 points.

Miami Trace forced 30 turnovers unofficially & Miami Trace had 12 turnovers.

Miami Trace (17-4 overall) will play SCOL rival Hillsboro Saturday at 1pm at Zane Trace High School in a sectional title game. Hillsboro overcame a 16-13 halftime deficit to blast Waverly 55-31 in the opening game of the D-2 Sectional Tournament Monday.

East Clinton (6-15) plays Greeneview Lady Rams on Saturday at Wilmington at 3pm in sectional tournament play.
