The Hillsboro Indians were one of several area teams that have advance to the Sweet 16 or the Regional Finals in the Ohio Dual Wrestling Championships.

The eight regional championships will be determine next Wednesday February 6th with the winners going on February 9th to Columbus for the final round of the tournament.

Hillsboro advances after defeating both Washington Court House (36-27) & Miami Trace (37-29) Wednesday night at Miami Trace. They will meet Ross High School in the Region 15 finals with site to be announced by Friday.

Hillsboro was the #3 seed in Region 15-A & defeated Bellbrook (seeded #6) last week & then the #2 seed Blue Lions & #1 seed Panthers to get to the regional finals.

How other area teams fared:

Division 2 Region 13
#1 Seed Circleville defeated both Chillicothe (44-27) & Licking Valley (37-32) & will meet Athens in the regional finals next Wednesday. Athens qualified as the #1 seed in their regional bracket by defeating Gallia Academy & Sheridan.

Division 3 Region 21
Amanda-Clearcreek will meet Shadyside in their regional finals. Aces defeated Coshocton then Bloom Carroll to qualify for the finals.

Division 3 Regional 22
SVC opponents Ross Southeastern & Zane Trace were defeated in the 1st round at the regional at West Jefferson. Bishop Hartley dominated by shutting out Ross Southeastern then defeated West Jefferson to capture a berth in the regional finals. West Jefferson had gotten to the finals after eliminating Zane Trace.

Hartley will now face off against Johnstown Northridge.

Division 3 Region 23
Blanchester wrestling team has made it's way to the dual regional championship after defeating Greeneview (42-36) & Dayton Christian. Dayton Christian upset #1 seed Dixie (37-35).

Blanchester will meet up Cincinnati Deer Park.
