CLINTON-MASSIE 48, WASHINGTON CH 41 OT
After taking an early Clinton-Massie 8-0 lead the rest of the contest saw both squads battle it out & taking turns pulling ahead of each other before tying the contest in the final seconds to force an overtime period.
Clinton Massie then went on a 10-3 run in the extra period that helped the Falcons (9-1 SCOL/12-3 overall) clinched the contest that now puts them 2 games ahead of both Washington CH & Madison Plains in the league race with 4 games to go.
Massie hit a three point goal & went 7 of 10 from the charity line in the extra quarter.
Washington went 0-5 from the field & hit only 3 free throws.
Massie dominated the boards using their height advantage & finished with 27 total rebounds (7 offensive rebounds) to the Blue Lions 19 rebounds (only 2 offensive rebounds).
Falcons were led by Trent Smart 15 points, Cory Saddler with 11 points & 11 rebounds & Tyler Uethrecht with 10 points.
Washington CH (7-3 SCOL/12-5 overall) was led by Derek Shaw with 13 points.
MADISON PLAINS 66, MIAMI TRACE 60
The Miami Trace Panthers lost their 2nd straight SCOL game in Madison County in the last 72 hours falling to Madison Plains. They lost at London on Saturday night.
The Panthers led by a point 48-47 after 3 quarters but went 2 of 11 from the field in the final 8 minutes of the game & hit less than half of their free throw attempts during the final 8 minutes of the game which the Golden Eagles took advantage of outscoring the Panthers 19-12 in the final quarter.
Madison Plains (9-6 overall/7-3 SCOL) was led by Alex Williams with 20 points, Stephen Liemuiex with 15 & Brooke Carter with 12 points.
Golden Eagles was 20 of 50 from the field (1 of 8 on threes) & 25 out of 34 from the free throw line.
The Panthers shot 20 of 48 from the field including 2 of 8 on threes & shot 18 of 26 from the charity stripe.
Blake Baldwin had 19 of his 25 points in the first half & Cedric Pettiford added 15 points as the Panthers drop to 6-5 in the SCOL & 11-6 overall.
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN 56, EAST CLINTON 45
The Tigers pulled away in the 4th quarter & clinch their 2nd SCOL win of the season both against East Clinton & both by 11 point margins.
Greenfield's win snapped a 4 game losing streak & they now stand at 2-9 SCOL & 6-12 overall.
McClain was led by Brent Shannon with 14 points, Tyler McGuire with 13 & Ryan Falcouner with 11 points.
The Tigers were 14 of 22 from the charity stripe & had 16 turnovers.
East Clinton (4-6 SCOL/8-10 overall) was led by Dalton Floyd with 21 poiints & Hayden Knisley with 10.
Astros were 11 of 21 from free throw line & had 20 turnovers.
LONDON 63, HILLSBORO 54
Red Raiders used a 20-3 second period to lead by 20 points at halftime Turesday night (32-12), then they had to hold off a big second half by the Indians to clinch their 3rd win in their last 4 games & Red Raiders now stand at 5-6 SCOL & 7-10 overall after starting the season at 1-6.
One of the big key's for the Red Raiders turnaround (6-4) has been getting several players in double figures in each game & again Tuesday night they got 3 players in double figures.
Kyle Fisher led with 25 points (he's averaging 18.3ppg in the 10 game streak), Brok Bennett scored 17 points Tuesday against Hillsboro (has a 14.5ppg average the last 10 games) & Zac Carey added 15 points in Tuesday game (13.5ppg average the last 10 games).
Jarrod Hart led Hillsboro (2-9 SCOL/6-11 overall) with 21 points.
