The 1st round of the Ohio Dual Wrestling Championships was held across the state, Wednesday, and several area teams are still alive in the new tournament in the Buckeye State.
DIVISION 1 - REGION 6
Teays Valley will meet Pickerington Central and Mt. Vernon wrestles with Pickerington North next Wednesday at 6pm. The matches will be at Mt. Vernon High School and will go on at the same time on 2 separate mats. The winners will then face off against each other 30 minutes after the matches end with the winner getting a berth in the February 6th regional finals.
DIVISION 2 - REGION 13
Granville eliminated Logan Elm and will face Licking Valley, while Circleville will wrestle Chillicothe Wednesday at Everts Middle School in Circleville. Winners of those matches face off 30 minutes after their matches for a berth in the Region 13 championships.
DIVISION 2 - REGION 15
Both Washington CH and Miami Trace advance to the regional semi-finals next Wednesday at Miami Trace High School. Washington faces off with Hillsboro, and Miami Trace will go against Franklin. Winners meet later that night for a berth in the regional finals.
Clinton-Massie eliminated Greenfield, and then the Blue Lions beat Clinton-Massie. Hillsboro defeated Bellbrook in their only match of the night.
Western Brown defeated London, while the Panthers defeated Western Brown. Franklin qualified after eliminating Wilmington.
DIVISION 3 - REGION 21
Regional Semi-Final matches at Bloom-Carroll will be Amanda-Clearcreek vs. Coshocton and Nelsonville-York vs.Bloom Carroll. Meanwhile at West Jefferson, the Roughriders wrestle Zane Trace, and Ross Southeastern, who received a forfeit win over Madison Plains, will meet Bishop Hartley.
DIVISION 3 - REGION 23
Match up pairings at Dixie High School will have Greeneview against Blanchester and Dixie vs. Dayton Christian. Greeneview advance after eliminating Waynesville.
