MIAMI TRACE 47, WASHINGTON CH  32

 
   The Lady Panthers jumped out 9-0 lead & never gave it up as they defeated the Lady Lions 47-32 Wednesday night in SCOL girls basketball action.
   The loss for Washington snapped a 7 game win streak & came about 24 hours after the Miami Trace boys team had put a stop to the Blue Lions 11 game winning streak in basketball.
 
   Two big factors in the contest was two long scoring droughts in the 1st half by the Lady Lions & hot free throw shooting thru out the game by the Lady Panthers.
 
  Washington went 3 minutes & 48 seconds in the opening period before scoring their first points of the contest.
  Once they score, Washington went on a  8-2 run to cut their deficit to 11-8 after the first period.
  Washington then started the 2nd quarter like the first going 4 minutes & 59 seconds before they scored again from the field & though they rallied some they still trailed the Lady Panthers 24-15 at the half.
 
  Miami Trace after missing their first 2 free throws in the 1st quarter went on a hot shooting streak making 16 straight free throws starting in the 2nd quarter lasting till late in the game. They finished hitting 17 of 21 from the charity stripe.
 
  Miami Trace finished outrebounding Washington by a 24-14 margin.
  Washington had 18 turnovers that led to 11 Lady Panthers points while Miami Trace had 12 turnovers & gave up 4 points to the Lady Lions off of them.
 
  Ariana Mabra led the Lady Panthers (12-4 overall & 9-1 SCOL) with 14 points & 10 rebounds. Deidre McKay had 9 points & Abby Schwenk added 8.
 
  Washington CH (11-7 overall/6-4 SCOL) was led in scoring by Emily Bath with 8 points,  Emma Anderson with 6 & Molli Shaw & Corrine Ryan with 5 points each.
 
  Reserve game: Washington CH stays perfect going to 17-0 overall & 10-0 in the SCOL with  37-24 win over Lady Panthers who drops to 9-5 overall & 6-4 in the SCOL.
 
  Washington CH plays an afternoon game Saturday at Clinton-Massie while Miami Trace travels to Madison Plains.
 
 GREENFIELD MCCLAIN 61, HILLSBORO 45
 
  The Hillsboro Lady Indians led 28-25 at the half but McClain Lady Tigers outscored them 14-4 in the 3rd & 22-12 in the final quarter to clinch the win.
 
   Greenfield (6-11 overall/4-6 SCOL) snapped a 4 game losing streak & moves Head Coach Dennis Overstake to within 4 wins of 500 career wins all at McClain.
    Hillsboro (5-12 overall/1-9 SCOL) has lost 4 of their last 5 games.
 
  MADISON PLAINS 66, LONDON 32
 
  For Golden Eagles their win & Washington loss puts them in 3rd place by themselves.
  Madison Plains is now (15-3/7-3 SCOL) while London drops (4-12/0-10).
