MIAMI TRACE 65, GREENFIELD MCCLAIN 49

The Panthers used an 18-6 third quarter to win their SCOL opener & get their 3rd win of the season with a win at the Panther Pit Friday night.

Miami Trace (1-0 3-0) was up 25-18 at the half over McClain (0-1 1-2) when they put the contest away. McClain though didn't give up as they scored more points in the 4th period (25) then they had the first three quarters combined (24).

Trace was led by Brantlyn Decker 12 points & Austin Schoellkopf with 10.

Brett Shannon led the Tigers with 13 & Thomas Schrader added 10 points.

Miami Trace goes to Leesburg Fairfield Saturday night in non-league action & McClain next game will be next Friday night when they play host to Hillsboro.

MADISON PLAINS 65, WASHINGTON CH 62

The contest went back & forth most of the evening but the Golden Eagles 19-15 lead after the first quarter proofed to be the pivot quarter as both teams went for their 1st SCOL win of the season.

Ryne Davis led 4 Eagles ( 1-0 1-1) in double figures with 21 points including 4 threes...Eli Williams added 11 points & Alex Williams & Hunter Butan had 10 points each.

Washington (0-1 0-3) was led by Derek Shaw with 25 points (3 threes) & Conner Eckles with 15 points.

Plains & Washington play next Wednesday with Plains at West Jefferson & Circleville will visit the Blue Lions.

EAST CLINTON 71, LONDON 63

The Astros defeated London in double overtime Friday night.

East Clinton took the lead in the 3rd quarter & headed into the final period with a 5 point lead but couldn't hold it as London tied the game at 47 each at the end of regulation. Both teams scored 11 points in the 1st OT before the Astros outscored London 13-8 in the 2nd extra period.

Dalton Floyd had 29 points to led East Clinton (1-0 2-1) & got help from several teammates including Hyden Knisley with 17 points.

London (0-1 0-4) was led by Brok Bennett with 21 points & with 10 points each Dustin Coffey & Zac Carey.

East Clinton had a 19-7 advantage at the free throw line.

The Astros are back in action next Saturday at Waynesville & London will play host to Tree of Life on Tuesday.

In case you were wondering Clinton Massie will not start their boys basketball season till December 27th at the Clinton County Holiday Tournament against East Clinton. This is due to a majority of their team made up of the state champ football team.

The Falcons though will play three games a week starting the week after the holidays on Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays to make up the first part of their schedule..

Game Friday at Hillsboro will be played on Saturday January 18th. That is just a day after the two meet at Clinton-Massie in a rare back to back night against each other.
