The Lady Lions were held scoreless in the opening period & lost to Wilmington Wednesday night in girls basketball action at Washington Senior High School 35-18. With the win, the Lady Hurricanes go to (3-1) and Washington drops to (2-2) overall.

WCH couldn't find the bucket in the first quarter and trailed 12-0 after the 1st period. The Hurricanes extended that lead to 22-4 at the half.

Washington finished the contest with 23 turnovers.

It wasn't too physical game as only a total of 11 fouls were called in the contest & Wilmington was 0-4 at the free throw line & Washington was 1 of 4.

Brianna Cupp led Wilmington with 14 points & Carleigh Chaffin led Washington with 5 points.
