The 2012 regular season will end with four county rivalry games Friday night in the SCOL.
MIAMI TRACE AT WASHINGTON CH
The winner receives the McDonald's Fayette County Trophy on this week Saturday Sports Wrap-Up Show at the Jeffersonville McDonalds.
The last two seasons the Blue Lions have been victorious winning 26-18 in 2010 that snapped the Panthers 12 game win streak in the series & then the Blue Lions traveled to Panther Stadium last year & won 42-20 giving them their first win at Miami Trace since 1989 & also a Blue Lions back to back win since the 1988 & 89 seasons.
Last week Washington won 39-0 over Hillsboro. The Blue Lions saw Tye Smith exploded with 248 yards & five touchdowns in the contest. He finished with 296 total yards in offense.
Miami Trace meanwhile saw four turnovers converted into four TDs & found themselves down 28-6 after first quarter & couldn't contain the Clinton-Massie Falcons in a 56-6 loss to the Falcons.
EAST CLINTON AT CLINTON-MASSIE
The Falcons with a win will have the SCOL title outright while an upset loss to East Clinton & a Miami Trace win at Washington CH would be a co-tirtle for the Falcons & Panthers.
Clinton-Massie at 9-0 have won 31 straight SCOL contests dating back to 2007.
This past Saturday night game at Miami Trace, Wyatt Running with 186 yards & 2 TDs & Bayle Wolf with 2 TDs & 150 yards helped the team rush for 407 yards overall in their 56-6 win.
The Falcons are going to the playoffs for the 11th straight season & will also try finish with a pefect 10-0 regular season for the 4th time in the last 5 years.
Astros Max Morrow has literally carried this team on his back. He rushed over 100 times in just the last 3 games. He also closing in on the 1600 yard rushing mark. Last week his 2 scores weren't enough as the team lost a 4th quarter lead in a 22-13 decision to London.
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN AT HILLSBORO
Two programs heading in the opposite directions play in the annual Rotary Bowl contest.
Last year both teams entered the rivarly game with 1 win each & Hillsboro won an exciting 28-27 contest.
This season Greenfield has rebounded with a 6-3 record & sits in the top 8 in their region at the 6th position. A win should secure the schools first ever playoff appearance.
Last week Dillon East had a career night with 250 yards rushing & 5 TDs against Madison Plains
Hillsboro is coming off the shut out loss at Washington CH contunes to struggle as they try to avoid a winless season.
Injuries have simply keep this team from having any kind of offensive attack & after losing one of the better players in Kordell Ford two weeks ago, the team in last weeks game lost his replacement with Kyler White hurt.
Quarterback Logan Lesley gives Indians fans some hope as he has play well at times thru the year.
Last week he had 88 yards passing & added 48 yards rushing as the Indians had 139 of their 188 yards of offense in the 2nd half.
In the last 10 games in this series Hilsboro leads 6-4 & have won 4 of the last 5 meetings.
LONDON AT MADISON PLAINS
Another rivarly game that sees teams going in opposite directions.
London has won 2 straight including a come from behind 22-13 win over East Clinton last week. Kyle Fisher had two 4th quarter TDs & 150 yards rushing in helping the Red Raiders avoid the school's worst mark of 1-9 that the school had three years in a row in 2005-06 & 07.
Madison Plains after starting off with a school record 4-0 start has lost 5 games in a row & a win would help them tied a team mark at 500 for third time in the last 10 years (2003 & 05).
Golden Eagles has lost QB Ryne Davis for the season & running back Stephen Liemuex didn't play in last week 56-22 loss at Greenfield.
Liemuex is expected to play in the London game. He needs 70 yards to go over 1000 for the season & become the first Golden Eagle football player to do that feat three years in a row.
