Highland County Health Department Addresses COVID-19 Vaccine

The Highland County Health Department asks residents to NOT call the office to pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine.

They say they does not know how many vaccines the state will allocate to Highland County for the 80+ group during the next week. Until then, they can't release any information on a registration process...but they will, later this week.

However, the Health Department is sure there will NOT be enough vaccine to cover its entire 80-and-older resident base. The Department says they recognizes how frustrating the low supply can be, but the decision is out their control.

Fayette County Public Health is currently vaccinating group 1A members of the community which includes healthcare workers and at-risk public employees. They are currently not scheduling and do not have a waitlist for Group 1B.

The Fayette County Health Department is currently not scheduling Group 1B and does not have a waitlist for Group 1B appointments.
