Washington CH City School Income Tax Levy Vote Headed to Overtime

If we could compare the August 4th special election for the Washington Court House City School Income Tax Levy to a sporting event, we might say the contest is headed to "overtime".

The earned income tax levy leads 751-748 after all 12 school district precincts were counted, but there are more ballots that still need to be counted.

The Fayette County Board of Elections told iHeart Media News that there are 18 provisional ballots that can't be counted for 10 days, under state law. Plus, there are 26 outstanding absentee ballots to count, if they meet the mail-in requirement deadline.

An election board official told us that the election certification date for the final tally will be on August 17th.‬
