Fayette Commissioners Set Bid Date for Area Bridge Projects

The Fayette County Commissioners will be receiving bids for the Flakes Ford Road and Brock Road Bridge Replacements later next month. The Flakes Ford project is estimated to cost a little more than $146-thousand, with the Brock Road project estimated at a little more than $236-thousand. Bids will be received on August 19th, the projects are to begin once the contract is awarded, and the work itself is expected to wrap up by the end of June 2020.

The Commissioners are also entering into a contract with a company out of Plain City to conduct work for the 2019 Fayette County Crack Seal Program. American Pavements Inc. will handle that work at a cost of slightly more than $22,800. The work is expected to wrap on August 10th.

The Commissioners have also approved the purchase of four new precinct scanners from the Clinton County Board of Commissioners to be used by the Fayette County Board of Elections. The four DS200 scanners, at a total cost of $8-thousand, are ballot scanners and vote tabulators that use digital-imaging technology to support paper based voting.

The Commissioners have voted to extend the due diligence period with a company looking to purchase a few acres of land within the county. BSTP Midwest LLC is looking to obtain around 7.12 acres of real estate located at 12356 Old U.S. 35.
