Troopers Seize Meth, Marijuana and a Loaded Handgun in Fayette County

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed felony drug charges against an Ohio man after a traffic stop in Fayette County that resulted in a seizure of 495 grams of methamphetamine and 459 grams of marijuana, valued at approximately $54,585.  


The bust was made around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26th when troopers stopped a 2006 Jeep Liberty with Ohio registration for a speed violation on Interstate 71 near milepost 69. While interacting with the driver, troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable search revealed the contraband and a loaded .380 caliber handgun.   


The driver, Adam May, 32, of Blanchester, was incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in a schedule I substance, both first-degree felonies; weapon under disability, a third-degree felony; possession of marijuana, a fifth-degree felony; and endangering a child, a first-degree misdemeanor. If convicted, he could face up to 26 years in prison and up to a $52,500 fine.
