Tournament play has not been all that kind to either Washington CH or Miami Trace baseball teams in recent years. That trend continued Thursday night as both were bounced from the post-season by lesser seeded squads.
The Blue Lions and Panthers shared the FAC Championship during the regular season, which helped garner a top seed for Miami Trace and a second seed for Washington CH.
But, in the Division 2 Sectional Finals, WCH fell hard to number 7 seed Hillsboro 14-4, while Miami Trace's falls was even more hard to swallow, losing a 5-3 decision to number 9 seed Logan Elm.
Hillsboro now advances to play Gallia Academy in the D-2 District Semis at Athens High School, Monday at 7pm. Logan Elm meets Athens at Ohio University the same day at 5pm.
