Army Having Trouble Finding Recruits Fit Enough To Serve

The United States military is facing a new challenge these days … a lack of physical fitness.

Amazingly, 71 percent of young Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 are ineligible to serve in the United States military, with nearly a third of them too overweight to enlist.

And, when recruits do get accepted, many of them end up getting injured during training and during their physical fitness tests, which include push-ups, sit-ups and a two-mile run.

Things have actually gotten so bad that the Army recently stopped requiring grenade throwing because recruits couldn't throw them far enough. (Men's Health)
