Charles P. McIlvaine Jr

Charles P. McIlvaine Jr., 83, of Frankfort, peacefully left this earth at 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Four Seasons of Washington Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on March 2, 1934, in Indianapolis IN, the son of the late Charles P. and Mary E. Keim McIlvaine.

Surviving is his wife of 52 years, the former Nancy Ulrey, whom he married on February 13, 1965. Also surviving are his two children, Heather (Michael) McIlvaine-Newsad of Macomb IL, Chad (Gretchen) McIlvaine of Frankfort, five granddaughters, Willow, Maren, Makayla, Kynleigh and Carlie, whom he loved so much. One sister, Mary Ellen Sheridan of Asheville NC, one brother, Albert McIlvaine of Evans GA, one sister-in-law, Ann (Robert) Pearl of Fort Wayne IN, nephews, Chuck Sheridan, Jeremy Sheridan, Keim McIlvaine, Robert Pearl and Ryan Pearl. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Reginald Blue, sister-in-law, Nina McIlvaine and nephew, Steve McIlvaine.

Charles was a 1952 graduate of Frankfort High School, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Kenyon College. Charles was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church and a member and Past Master of the Frankfort Lodge 309 Free and Accepted Masons and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a farmer until he retired in 2004. He was an avid gun collector and shooter.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, where military honors will be accorded.  Friends and family may visit with the McIlvaine family in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. A masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. Those wishing to sign Charles' online register book may do so at www.ebrightfuneralhome.com.
