Betty Lou Moon

Betty Lou Moon, 85, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Quaker Heights Care Community.  Her husband, Marvin E. Moon, preceded her in death February 8, 2010.  Betty and Marvin were married for 60 years.  Mrs. Moon was born February 20, 1932 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Russell and Margaret Camp Hampton.

Betty was employed by the Wilmington School District for eight years as a cook.  She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington.  Betty will be remembered for her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Kathie (Edward) McCarty of New Vienna, Ohio, Russell Moon of New Vienna, Ohio, and Tony (Beverly) Moon of Waynesville, Ohio; three sisters, Ann (Kenneth) Diller of Wilmington, Ohio, Patty (Clifford) Curtis of Wilmington, Ohio, and Gloria Jean (Gary) Vance of Hillsboro, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michal E. Moon, May 11, 2017, two brothers, Russell Oliver Hampton Jr. and Richard Hampton, and two sisters, Mary Lindsey and Wilma Hampton.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  The funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Dixon officiating.  Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery with Justin R. Moon, Cameron Moon, Jarod Moon, Chad Bowman, Lucas Storer, and Rich Simpkins serving as pallbearers.
