Joseph J. Gibson Sr., 82, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Otterbein Lebanon. His wife, Darlene Mae Flint Gibson, preceded him in death February 22, 2013. He was born August 10, 1935 in Clinton County, Ohio, son of the late Arthur and Goldie Smith Gibson. He was a 1953 graduate of Adams High School. Mr. Gibson was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed gardening and being with family.
Mr. Gibson is survived by a son, Joseph Gibson Jr.; two daughters, Kathy Jo Wallace and Stephanie McKeever; two sisters, Mary Botts and Velma Flint; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Paul) Mandelstein, Michael (Pam) Gibson, Kara Gibson, Steven (Chrissy) McKeever, Elizabeth (Shawn) Myers, Chris Gibson, and Robert (Brandy) McKeever; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, a daughter-in-law, Sandra Gibson, three brothers, Donald Gibson, Arthur Gibson Jr., and Frank Gibson, and a great-grandchild, Wade McKeever, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Tim Raines officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Friends Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
