Ruth Louise Stingley

Ruth Louise Stingley, 92, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away 8:52 AM, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville after a long and enriched life.  Ruth passed peacefully holding her daughters’ hands, until she once again held the hands of her loving husband.  Her daughters say that she passed just in time to make it to her first and most glorious church service in heaven.

Ruth was born January 22, 1925 in Boise, Idaho, daughter of the late Granville and Irene Wall.  She then moved to the Dayton, Ohio area where she spent her childhood years.  She married Raymond “Junior” Stingley on April 21, 1949.  They celebrated almost 56 years together before Junior’s passing March 5, 2005.

Together, side by side, Ruth and Junior farmed the fifth-generation family farm.  Ruth was a faith filled woman and a devoted member of the Lumberton United Methodist Church.  Ruth loved spending time in her flowers, feeding and watching the birds, and caring for all of God’s little creatures.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Nancy Hughes of Powell, Ohio and Joyce (John) Kirby of Wilmington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kristin (David) Davis of Port Orchard, Washington, Kimberly Hughes of Brooklyn, New York, Joshua (Julie) Kirby of Wilmington, Ohio, Jeremy (Stephanie) Kirby of Wilmington, Ohio, and Jenny (Adam) Binder of Goshen, Ohio; eight great grandchildren, Kailey Davis and Gavin Davis of Port Orchard, Washington, Lakelynd Kirby of Wilmington, Ohio, Raymond Kirby, Samantha Kirby, and Jeremy Kirby Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio, and Mason Binder and Mia Binder of Goshen, Ohio; two brothers, Franklin (Betty) Wall of Wilmington, Ohio and Clarence Wall of Xenia, Ohio; and a sister, Betty Wilt of Middletown, Ohio.  In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Ralph Wall and George Wall, and a sister, Charlotte Karl, are preceded in death.

Ruth spent the last five years at Quaker Heights, which quickly became her new home.  She was blessed with caring and compassionate staff.  Our heartfelt thanks go to all the staff who soon became to feel like our extended family.  You provided physical care and emotional support to Ruth and her family.  We will always be grateful.
