Alice Mae Long

ALICE MAE LONG, age 79, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 5:40 a.m. at Heartland of Chillicothe.

She was born on June 23, 1938 in Fayette County to Jesse and Anna Maxine Carpenter Hall. She was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School. She retired as manager from Club Apartments in Washington CH. Alice was a long time member of the Jeffersonville Church of Christ, and served as secretary for the ladies ministry. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, following The Statler Brothers, gardening and canning, and she could always be found at Wendy’s on Bridge Street in Chillicothe with her friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings; Dorothy Hall, Ralph Hall, John Robert Hall, and Carl Frederick Hall.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Long, whom she married on February 3, 1960; son, Jon (Randa) Long; grandchildren, Charles Pickens, Tracy Potts, Doug Pickens, Kristie Smith, Krystal Pickens, Gabriel Minkel, and Lucas Minkel; siblings, Jeannie (Richard) Ellison, Viola Mackewich, David (Norma) Hall, Dale (Betty) Hall, and Gary Hall; and her loving canine companions, Frankie and Bugs. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The graveside will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Jon Mercer officiating.
