David C. Long

David C. Long, 89 years of Greenfield, passed away on Monday April 17, 2017 at the Four Seasons Nursing Home.

 

He was born in West Kittanning, PA on October 26, 1927, the son of the late Dale and Grace (Toy) Long. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his wife, Martha (Jones) Long on June 3, 2009, three brothers and one sister.

 

David graduated from Kittanning High School in 1946, joined the Navy after high school where he served two tours overseas during WWII. Took two years of mechanic school. He worked and retired from International Harvester in Springfield, OH, loved to fish, hunt, motorcycles, looking at old fast cars. He was vivid storyteller, loved music, playing piano and harmonica. He also loved to witness to people, telling them the story of Jesus and was the choir and orchestra director at Worthington Baptist Church.

 

David is survived by his three sons, Rev. Donald (Sandra) Long of Fremont, MI, Ronald Long of Sligo, PA and David (Talitha) Long of Xenia, OH, two daughters, Patricia (John) Sticka of Greenfield, OH and Debra Norris of Jamestown, OH, eleven grandchildren” Daniel Long, Crystal Long, Rhonda Jenkins, Angela Redmond, Ronald Sticka, Robert Sticka, Michael Norris, Conrad Norris, Ashley Norris, Levi Long and Matthew Long and eighteen great grandchildren.

 

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday April 22, 2017 at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington, PA, 119 Bear Street, Worthington, PA 16262. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates.

 

 

Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thurs April 20, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, OH and on Friday April 21, 2017 at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington, PA.
