Carl (Pete) Tomlin

Carl (Pete) Tomlin, 77, of West Union, Ohio formerly of Stout, Ohio

passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2107 at the Adams County

Regional Medical Center in Seaman.  He was born November  24, 1939

in Stout. He was the son of the late Dennis (Butch) Tomlin and Betty

(Tripplett) Bowling, and raised by his grandparents, the late Leo and

Cilvia (Poole) Tomlin.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his

wife, Shirley (Swartzel) Tomlin, three brothers and two sisters.

          Pete is survived by five children:  Tracy Tomlin and wife Sonya of

Sardinia; Christina VanAtta and husband Tim of Union; Ruth Toll of Iowa

Park, Texas; Lonnie Tomlin and wife Mechelle of Bentonville; and Sylvia

Conn and husband Greg of Bentonville; one brother, Dennis Tomlin of Dayton;

three sisters: Carol Willett and Pam Tomlin of Dayton, and Jean Babb of

Xenia; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews

and friends.

          Pete was a former employee of Copeland Corporation and General Electric.

He was a bus driver for the Ohio Valley Local School District and he was a lifelong farmer.  He was a1957 graduate of Manchester High School

and a member of the Adams County Democrat Club.   

                   

The visitation is Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 12 until 2 pm at Lafferty

Funeral Home in West Union.  The funeral is at 2 pm.  Pastor Owen Applegate

will officiate.  The burial will be at Manchester Cemetery in Manchester.

 Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union is serving the family.
