Robert E. “Bob” Hammond, 83 years of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017.
He was born April 12, 1933 in Highland County, the son of the late Walter Vernon and Sylvia (Williamson) Hammond. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Ruby VanPelt and one brother Leroy Hammond.
He is survived by one brother Tom Hammond of Hillsboro; one sister Betty Hanners of Washington C.H. and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
