WASHINGTON CH (3-2/1-1) AT BISHOP READY (5-0)
For the 2nd week in a row the Blue Lions play a state ranked team. After losing 56-6 to Chillicothe at home last week, on Friday the team travels to Ready (ranked #2 in Division 6).
Ready is averaging about 44 points a game & giving up only 15 points a contest. They are led by Akili Taylor(over 800 yards rushing & 11 TDs so far), Bran-den Bailey & quarterback Matt Yoho (6 passing TDs & 3 rushing TDs). Joel Cutler who was the Division 4 Central District Coach of the Year returns for his 2nd season after leading the team to a playoff berth last year. On defense All Ohioan Kelly Culbertson returns as one of the team's safeties.
Blue Lions are led by Tye Smith with over 700 yards rushing & 10 TDs so far this season. Blue Lions dropped from 8th to 13th this week in the computer rankings & can't afford too many more losses if they hope for a playoff berth this year.
MIAMI TRACE (4-1/1-1) AT EAST CLINTON (2-3/1-1)
The Panthers had 6 players rushing for a total of over 300 yards in last year's 35-13 win over the Astros who played without Dalton Floyd & star runner Max Morrow.
The Panthers are coming off a 42-0 win last week at Hillsboro getting scoring from several players including Trevor Haines.
East Clinton meanwhile is coming off a 26-21 win last Friday against Greenfield McClain. The Astros got a 197 yards passing performance by Dalton Floyd with Clyde Snow catching 9 passes for 100 yards.
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN (3-2/0-2) AT CHILLICOTHE (5-0/2-0)
The Tigers loss three fumbles in their loss last week to East Clinton despite having over 300 yards rushing. Thom Schrader led the Tigers attack with 145 yards & Ryan Falconcer with 115 yards.
Chillicothe is currently at 5-0 for the 1st time since 1998 & are ranked #8th in Division 3 in this week AP polls & are in 2nd place behind Athens in their region in the computer rankings that determine the playoff teams at the end of the season.
CLINTON-MASSIE (4-1/1-0) AT HILLSBORO (1-3/0-2)
The Falcons dropped out of the top spot in this week AP Division 4 polls after their 21-16 loss last week to DeSales. They dropped to 5th place not only in the AP Poll but also in their region in the computer rankings. Urbana takes over the top spot in the computers with Miami Trace jumping up to 2nd place.
Last year the Falcons score 3 times on only 5 plays & had a 35-0 lead over Hillsboro after running only 17 plays. They finished with Bayle Wolf having 4 TDs in a 77-6 win over the Indians.
Hillsboro will try to rebound after last week shutout loss to Miami Trace of 42-0.
