CHILLICOTHE 20. MIAMI TRACE 14 OT
After trailing 14-0 midway in the 1st quarter the Chillicothe Cavaliers (4-0/1-0) battled back & won in overtime Friday night at Panther Stadium scoring 20 straight unanswered points.
Trevor Haines (97 yards rushing) scored first for the Panthers (3-1/0-1) who were facing a Cavaliers football program for 1st time since 1993. Jimmy Stroker added the Panthers 2nd score later in the 1st period as Miami Trace (ranked 11th Division 4) ran up over 200 yard in offense before Chillicothe tighten down on defense holding the Panthers to 100 yards the rest of the game & in overtime.
Chillicothe (ranked 9th in Division 3) Ryan Mathis scored seconds before halftime & again in the 3rd period to tie the game at 14 a piece. When neither team converted a score in the final 12 minutes the contest went into OT & Nate Rosenbauer scored the game winner on an 18 yard run.
CLINTON MASSIE 62, GREENFIELD MCCLAIN 0
The Falcons had three players with over 100 yards rushing & won their 33rd straight SCOL contest Friday night over Greenfield McClain.
Bayle Wolf had 4 TDs & over 250 yards rushing & was joined by his brother Chase (124 yards & 2TDs) & Kelson Gauden (191 yards & 2TDS) as the Falcons had 630 of their 650 yards of offense on the ground. The Falcons (4-0/1-0) have now won 19 games in a row & the defending Division 4 champs are ranked again as the top school in the AP High School Football Division 4 polls that started this week.
McClain (3-1/0-1) was held to 90 yards in offense including 42 yards on the ground.
WASHINGTON CH 49, EAST CLINTON 32
The two teams combined for over 800 yards in total offense in a game that took about 3 hours to play without any weather delay.
The Blue Lions (3-1/1-0) got 210 yards & 4 TDs performance from Tye Smith as the Blue Lions unofficially had over 470 total offense yards. Washington led 42-14 early in the 3rd quarter. But just like last year game against the Astros, the Blue Lion had to hold off a charge in the 4th quarter to pick up the win.
Dalton Floyd led the Astros with a passing TD & rushing TD as the East Clinton squad (1-3/0-1) rolled up over 340 total yards in offense.
HILLSBORO 40, LANDMARK CHRISTIAN 6
The Indians snapped a 13 game losing streak & got TDs from 6 different players & had a school record 3 straight PATs from Ashlee Partee the first woman placekicker football player in school history.
Lane Hester, Toby Warrington, Garrett Baldridge, Jordan Mosley & Andrew Palmer all ran in scores & Avery Ventura return an interception for another Hillsboro TD.
The game was delayed about 20 minutes in the 2nd period when a Landmark player was injured & taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.
