Jeff Spradlin who served as the boys varsity basketball coach at Madison Plains High School passed away Friday night at the school after conducting a practice session.
The 51-year-old Spradlin, reportedly had left the Madison Plains Junior High School and walked back to the high school, where he collapsed in a hallway from a heart attack. Custodial staff found him & called 911 & began efforts to revive him but was unable to.
Spradlin had served as the Golden Eagles head coach since 2006, and this past season squad was coming off a (14-10) season, which they had finished (8-6) in their last season as a member of the SCOL.
The squad had also captured their second sectional title in four years under Spradlin.
School officials announced that grief counselors were at the school Monday.
